Each year, the (RSC) celebrates researchers and scholars whose work is shaping knowledge and Canada鈥檚 future. This year, three 七色视频 faculty members have earned the nation鈥檚 highest academic honour for their remarkable contributions across science, health, and the humanities.

Dr. Jennifer Bain explores how medieval plainchant, one of the earliest forms of written music, travelled across continents and cultures. Her work examines the complex histories of how these sacred sounds took root in new places, including Indigenous communities in Canada, and her digital projects are preserving this global heritage for future generations

Dr. Finlay Maguire: Tracking Pathogens, Protecting People

Dr. Finlay Maguire uses genomic data to understand and outsmart infectious diseases. His computational tools help hospitals and public health make faster, better-informed decisions on antibiotic use and outbreak control, while supporting international efforts to prevent the next global pandemic.
Celebrating excellence in discovery and creativity
In total, the Royal Society of Canada has elected 102 new Fellows and 59 new Members of the RSC College this year, honouring leaders who are pushing the boundaries of science, scholarship, and the arts.

The 2025 Celebration of Excellence and Engagement will take place November 12 to 16 in Montr茅al, where the newest Fellows and College Members will be formally inducted.
